Front Information Display Control Head Control Module (J523), through 10.2008

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

The front information display control head control module is located behind the center console at the top.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Removing

- Remove the climate controls.

- Remove the CD changer (R41) in the center console. Refer to => [ CD Changer, through 10.2008 ] CD Changer, Through 10.2008.

- Remove the screws - arrows - and remove the front information display control head control module - 1 - in the direction of the - arrow - from the mount frame.






- Release and disconnect the connection for the MOST-Bus - 3 -.






- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.






- Loosen the ground connection - 2 -.






- Disconnect the connections - 1 - and - 4 - on the front information display control head control module - 5 - control unit.

- Rotate the front information display control head control module control unit together with the bracket - 5 -.

- Remove the bolts - 3 - and remove front information display control head control module - 2 - from the bracket - 1 -.






Installing

- Perform the installation in reverse order.
