Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

The radio (R) is located behind the left side trim panel inside the luggage compartment.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Removing

The Infotainment rack must first be removed.

Remove the digital sound system control module (J525) and its mount, where applicable.

- Open left luggage compartment storage bin.

- Disconnect the connectors on the digital sound system control module.

- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.






- Remove the nuts - 1 - and screws - 3 - on the bracket - 2 - and lift the bracket with the digital sound system control module into the luggage compartment.






- Remove the die nut - 1 -, - 2 - and - 4 - on the Infotainment rack - 3 -.






- Move the Infotainment rack - 3 - into the luggage compartment. Disconnect the connectors.

- Disconnect the connectors on the radio (R).

- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.






- Press the left and right tabs - arrows - on the radio and remove the radio - arrow - from the Infotainment rack.






Installing

- Perform the installation in reverse order.
