Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module, MMI, through 10.2008

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Radio Removal Tool (T10057)

Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

The navigation system with CD drive control module (J401) is located behind the left luggage compartment side trim in the Infotainment rack.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Removing

- Open left luggage compartment storage bin.

- Loosen the nuts - 1 -, - 2 -, - 4 - and - 5 - on the Infotainment rack - 3 -.






- Tip rack into luggage compartment until the navigation system with CD drive control module connectors can be reached.

- Disconnect the connector from the MOST bus.

- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.






- Disconnect the remaining connectors on the navigation system with CD drive control module.

- Insert two clips of (T10057) into release slots of navigation system with CD drive control module until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.






- Remove navigation system with CD drive control module from rack.

- Remove (T10057) by pressing locking tabs on navigation system with CD drive control module.

Installing

- Slide the navigation system with CD drive control module in until it engages in mounting frame.

- Perform the installation in reverse order.
