C-Pillar Trim







C-Pillar Trim

Removing and installing is identical for the left and right sides.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Removing






Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.

- Fold the backrest forward.

- Vehicles equipped with sun shade: unclip sun shade guide trim - 1 - using a screwdriver and remove it.

- Pry the "Airbag" symbol - 2 - approximately 5 mm out of the expanding clip using a screwdriver.

- Unclip C-pillar trim - 3 - using the trim removal wedge (3409) - A arrow -.

- Pull the C-pillar trim out of the rear shelf and the side trim - B arrows - and remove it.

Installing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.

Do not pinch the head curtain airbag when installing the C-pillar trim.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

If the trim clamps remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim.

Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

- Position the C-pillar trim first on the rear shelf and then the side trim.

- Press the C-pillar trim on until it engages audibly.

- Vehicles equipped with a rear shade: make sure the holes in C-pillar trim - 2 - engage in the centering pins - arrows - on rear shade guide rail - 1 -.






- Press the "Airbag" symbol in so the expanding clip locks.
