Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (G62)

Removing






• Engine cold.

- Remove the engine cover - arrows -.

- Briefly open the coolant reservoir cap to reduce the residual pressure in the coolant system.






- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the ECT Sensor.






• Use a cloth to catch any leaking coolant.

- Remove retaining clip - 2 - and ECT Sensor.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

• Replace the O-ring.

• To prevent coolant loss, immediately insert new ECT Sensor in support.

- Check the coolant level => [ Check the coolant level. ] Service and Repair.
