Secondary Air Injection Combination Valves without Vacuum Control, Checking for Function and Leaks
Procedure
• Hose connections properly sealed.
- Remove the engine cover - arrows -.
Left Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combi-Valve:
- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead.
- Remove the secondary air hose - 3 - by pressing the release buttons.
• Ignore - 1 and 2 -.
Right Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combi-Valve:
- Free up the fuel line and the line to the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister on the air guide pipe.
- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor (G70).
- Disconnect the vacuum line - 3 - from the air guide pipe.
Risk of violating emissions legislation.
• Do not open hose connection - 2 -!
- Lay aside air guide pipe with connected crankcase ventilation hose - 2 - by loosening hose clamp - 4 - and opening clips - arrows -.
Continuation for the Right AIR Combi-Valve:
- Remove the secondary air hose - arrow - by pressing the release buttons.
• Ignore - 1, 2 and 3 -.
Continued for Both Sides:
- Connect the auxiliary hose - arrow - to the combination valve for Secondary Air Injection (AIR).
- Blow lightly into the assisting hose by mouth, do not use compressed air.
• AIR combination valve must be closed, it must not be possible to flush.
- Blow forcefully into the assisting hose by mouth, do not use compressed air.
• The AIR combination valve must open, it must be possible to flush.
- If the switch point cannot be detected, replace AIR combi-valve. Refer to => [ Left Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combination Valve ] Left Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combination Valve, => [ Right Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combination Valve ] Right Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Combination Valve.
Assembling
Assemble in reverse order of disassembling. Note the following:
- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead.
