Affected Vehicles





Condition

Rain-sensing windshield wipers exhibit one of the following conditions:
- Wipers do not respond to wet windshields.
- Wipers operate erratically.
- Wipers operate on dry windshields.

Wipers can still be operated manually.

Technical Background
The rain sensor has been deactivated in the Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (address word 09).

Production Solution
Vehicle Electrical System Control Module with software level 253.

Service
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the electrical system control module using SVM action code as listed in the table below if necessary.





TIP: Be sure to perform the SVM Specified/Actual Comparison after performing the software update.

3. Verify proper operation of the rain sensor and wiper system.
