Cylinder Head Assembly: Adjustments






Valve Timing, Checking

- Remove timing chain upper cover. Refer to => [ Upper Timing Chain Cover ] Upper Timing Chain Cover.

- Remove the noise insulation.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Lift the clamps - 1 and 2 - and remove the air guide pipe.

- Turn the vibration damper, from underneath, in direction of engine rotation to "TDC" - arrow -.






Use a ratchet with a 24 mm socket to turn the vibration damper. Always turn vibration damper in direction of engine rotation to "TDC". Do not turn the vibration damper backward to get to TDC!

The notch on the vibration damper must line up with the arrow marking on the timing chain lower cover (use a mirror).

The markings - 1 - on the camshafts must point upward.

- Measure the distance from the outer edge - A - to the marking - B - on the intake camshaft.






Specified value: 61 to 64 mm.

- Once the specified value is reached, measure the distance between the marking on the intake camshaft - B - and the marking on the exhaust camshaft - C -.






Specified value: 124 to 126 mm

If one tooth has an offset, there will be a deviation of approximately 6 mm from the specified value. Install the timing chain once again if there is an offset.
