Removing
- Remove the screws - arrows - from the wheel housing liner and remove expanding clip - 3 -.
- To remove the expanding clip, press in clamping pin - 1 - carefully by dimension - x - until it audibly engages in the expanding clip - arrow A -.
• Dimension - x - = 5 mm
- Pull out unlocked expanding clip - 2 - with the clamping pin.
- Bend heat shield - 2 - back slightly in the area of the screws.
- Remove the bolt - 1 -.
- Remove the left and right tail lamp. .
- Remove the right luggage compartment side trim.
- Disconnect fog lamp electrical harness connector - 1 -.
- In the case of vehicles with a parking aid, disconnect electrical harness connector - 2 -.
- Unclip cover strip - 2 - on upper bumper - 1 - from the locking mechanisms - arrows - and remove.
- Remove the bolt - 2 -.
- Remove the bumper laterally toward the outside from the body - arrow A -.
- Disengage the bumper from the clips by releasing retaining tabs - 1 -.
- Disengage the bumper on the rear guide piece from the clips by releasing retaining tabs - 3 -.
• If retaining tabs - 3 - cannot be released, the strip on the guide piece must be carefully lifted - arrow B -.
- Thread the electrical wiring harness out of the body opening and remove the bumper.
Installation
• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Rear Bumper Assembly Overview ] Rear Bumper Assembly Overview.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- The bumper must engage completely.
- Install the left and right tail lamp. .
- Install the rear wheel housing liner. Refer to => [ Rear Wheel Housing Liner ] Rear Wheel Housing Liner.
