Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Brake Pedal Actuator (V.A.G 1869/2)
Removing
- Remove brake pads. Refer to => [ Brake Pads, FN 3 ] Brake Pads, FN 3.
- Install the (V.A.G 1869/2) between the brake pedal and driver seat. Depress the brake pedal a minimum of 60 mm.
• By doing this, the valves in the brake master cylinder are closed and the brake fluid reservoir does not run empty.
- Connect the hose of a bleeder bottle to the bleeder screw of the removed brake caliper.
- Open the bleeder screw.
- Do not remove (V.A.G 1869/2).
- Unfasten the brake hose from the brake caliper.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal, with special attention to the following:
- Install brake pads. Refer to => [ Brake Pads, FN 3 ] Brake Pads, FN 3.
- Bleed the brake system: ABS/ESP Mark 60/ ABS Mark 70. Refer to => [ Bleeding Brake System, ITT ABS/ESP Mark 60/ABS Mark 70 ] Bleeding Brake System, ITT ABS/ESP Mark 60/ABS Mark 70.
