Instruments - Stripe Across Instrument Cluster Display

90 Stripe in IP cluster center display

90 10 22

2021309/3

December 1, 2010.

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 90 number 10-05 dated May 10, 2010 for reasons listed below.

Affected Vehicles

Condition
A stripe crosses the IP cluster center display.

This affects only vehicles with driver information system (PR number: +9Q2).

Technical Background

To differentiate the separate screen sections of the dash insert, a black plastic strip was installed in the upper third of the center screen. It prevents interference of the background lighting with other sections. It also prevents mixing of light colors if information with yellow or red background lighting is displayed.

Depending on the light situation and the illustrations or words displayed, the strip appears as a black stripe. It becomes very clear when performing a final control diagnosis.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

1. Do not replace the dash insert. Unjustified replaced parts will be debited.

2. Explain the Technical Background to the customer (possibly with a final control diagnosis).

Warranty

This TSB is informational only and not applicable to any Audi warranty.
