Ignition Key Lock, Check Function

• There are no mechanical ignition key locks with cable, but rather an electrical ignition key lock.

Procedure

- Turn on the ignition.

- Press the brake pedal and hold it down.

• It must be possible to move the selector lever out of P without getting stuck when the locking button in the selector lever handle is pressed.

- Turn off the ignition.

• It should not be possible to remove the ignition key when the selector lever is in any other position than P.

- Move the selector lever into P.

- Remove ignition key.

• It should be possible to remove the key only when the selector lever is in P.

• It is not possible to move the selector lever out of P when both the locking button and the brake pedal are pressed.

• Check the vehicle through Guided Fault Finding vehicle diagnostic tester.
