Models

Generation II+ radio with iPod (DTC 00857 stored in radio)

Condition

^ DTC 00857 004 (CD changer R41: no signal/communication sporadic) is stored in the radio generation 11+ (Blaupunkt).

^ The vehicle has an iPod adapter installed PR code (UF1 or PBA).

^ The iPod functions properly.

Technical Background

The radio generation 11+ (Blaupunkt) does not always properly recognize the iPod in the external CD changer position. This may cause the DTC 00857 004 (CD changer R41: no signal/communication sporadic) to be stored in the radio.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

^ If there is no concern about restricted iPod functionality, this DTC can be ignored and no further action is necessary.

^ If the DTC is static, or there is a concern about iPod functionality, address the issue with GFF function test plans.
