Airbag Adapter, Connecting






Standard Front Seat, from November 2004

From August 2005, the conventional wiring harness routing to the connector station under the front seat. Refer to => [ Connectors, Disconnecting ] has been replaced with modular wiring routing. Refer to => [ Modular Wiring Routing, from August 2005, Assembly Overview ].

The modular wiring routing has not been implemented for all countries.

Airbag adapter (VAS 6036)





Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System ( VAS 5051 A)







CAUTION!
Technician must be grounded before disconnecting ignition and ground wiring, touching door striker or body.

CAUTION!
The Airbag Adapter (VAS 6036) must stay connected to seat until seat is installed again.





1 Side Airbag Connector, Seat Side (Yellow)

2 Side Airbag Connector, Adapter Side (Yellow)

- Disconnect ignition and ground wiring.

- Attach adapter-side of side airbag connector - 2 - to seat-side of side airbag connector - 1 -.

3 Power Supply Connector, Adapter Side (Red)

4 Power Supply Connector, Seat Side (Red)

Side Airbag Connector, Disconnecting





- Press catch - 3 - on connector for side airbag - 2 - from counterpart - 1 - and remove it.

- Follow measures after connecting battery.

If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) ( K75) shows a malfunction after assembly, DTC memory must be checked with Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System ( VAS 5051 A), cleared and then rechecked.
