Reading Measured Value Block

Test Procedure
- Connect vehicle diagnostic testing and information system (VAS 5051). Refer to => [ VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions ] VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions and select vehicle system "02 Transmission Electronics". Ignition must be switched on.
or, depending on the desired operation:
- Start engine.
Display on vehicle diagnostic testing and information system (VAS 5051)
- Touch - 1 - diagnostic function "08 Read Measured Value Block".
Display on vehicle diagnostic testing and information system (VAS 5051):
- Enter display group Max. input value = 255
- On key pad - 2 - enter desired 3 digit display group number => List of Display Groups, refer to => [ Selectable Display Groups ] and confirm entry by touching Q button.
Example
- Enter "001" for "Display group number 001" and confirm by touching Q button.
Display on vehicle diagnostic testing and information system (VAS 5051) for display group 001 to 255:
1. Display group X
2. Display field 1
Display field 2
Display field 3
Display field 4
• If a display field is not being used, there will be no display.
• To switch to another display field, proceed as follows:
- End function "08 Read Measured Value Block" by touching arrow button.

Display Group Number 001 (Part 1):

Display Group Number 003:
* You must activate the upshift switch (+) by tapping the selector lever forward. On vehicles with multi function steering wheel the upshift switch has to be activated by additionally tapping the upper left or right button (+) on the steering wheel.
* You must activate the downshift switch (-) by tapping the selector lever to the rear. On vehicles with multi function steering wheel the downshift switch has to be activated by additionally tapping the lower left or right button (-) on the steering wheel.
Display Group Number 004 (Part 2):
* While driving: a second technician is needed to read the specified values.
Display Group Number 004 (Part 1):
* While driving: a second technician is needed to read the specified values.
• Notes on display group number 004:
• If "0 RPM" is shown in display field 3 or 4, the corresponding sender is faulty and the Transmission Control Module (TCM) must be replaced.
• If "0 RPM" is shown in display field 3 and 4, there is a mechanical defect in the transmission, and the transmission must be replaced.

Display Group Number 007 (Part 2):

Display Group Number 007 (Part 1):
* While driving a second technician is needed to read the specified values.
• Note on display group number 007, display field 4:
• If "AS" is always displayed, the clutch is slipping. The Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) must be changed. If "AS" is still displayed the transmission must be replaced.
Display Group Number 008:
* While driving a second technician is needed to read the specified values.
Display Group Number 009:
* While driving a second technician is needed to read the specified values.
* In order to generate the kick down signal the accelerator pedal must be depressed to the stop.
Display Group Number 010:
* "ADP" is the abbreviation for adaptation. Adaptation means adapting to an internal specified value.
Display Group 011:
* "ADP" is the abbreviation for adaptation. Adaptation means adapting to an internal specified value.
Display Group 012-017:
* While driving a second technician is needed to read the specified values.
Display Group 018-021:
Display Group 022:
* While driving a second technician is needed to read the specified values.
Display Group 022-124:
* While driving a second technician is needed to read the specified values.
Display Group Number 125:
• Notes on display group number 125
• If "1" is displayed, communication from the corresponding control module to the TCM is O.K.
• If "0" is displayed and no trouble code has been set in the DTC memory, the corresponding control module does not have CAN capability (or is faulty).
