CAUTION!
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
• Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
• Switch the ignition off.
• Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
• After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to Repair Information and/or Owner's Manual.
• Steps after reconnecting voltage supply => Battery.
• The control module for immobilizer is integrated into the instrument cluster, i.e. the control module for immobilizer is replaced together with the instrument cluster => [ Instrument Cluster ] Instrument Cluster.

• The immobilizer is deactivated for a period of 10 minutes after every successful log-in function: The operation of system should not be tested during this period.
- Switch ignition off for at least 5 minutes.
- Cover induction coil with a metal plate with cut-out, e.g. by placing a fitting shim washer onto the ignition lock and inserting the ignition key into the ignition lock through the hole.
or
- Disconnect wire of induction coil at connector between ignition/starter switch and instrument cluster.
- Start engine.
Engine must be switched off and warning light must flash.
- Initiate On Board Diagnostic (OBD) of anti-theft immobilizer and check DTC memory.
Do this using vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system (VAS5051).
One of the following DTCs is indicated on display:
• Key signal too low
or
• Induction coil of immobilizer (D2)
- Erase DTC memory and end output.
