Input Shaft Assembly Overview

• When installing new gears, consult technical data => [ Transmission Identification ] Transmission Identification.

• Lubricate all bearings with gear oil when inserting on input shaft.

• Position of ball bearing => [ (Item 2) Ball bearing ] is affected by replacing parts => [ (Item 4) Transmission housing ] and => [ (Item 7) Input Shaft ]. In this case, input shaft must be adjusted anew => [ Input Shaft, Adjusting ] Adjustments.





1 Securing ring

• identify

• Installation position => [ Installation Position of Circlips ] Input Shaft, - 1 -

• Determining thickness => [ Input Shaft, Adjusting ] Adjustments

2 Ball bearing

• Removing and installing => [ Transmission, Assembly Sequence ] Transmission, Assembly Sequence

3 Securing ring

• identify

• Installation position => [ Installation Position of Circlips ] Input Shaft, - 2 -

• Determining thickness => [ Input Shaft, Adjusting ] Adjustments

4 Transmission housing

5 Needle bearing

• For input shaft

• Secured with bolt => [ (Item 16) Bolt, 24 Nm ] Transmission Housing Assembly Overview

• Removing and installing => [ (Item 17) Needle bearing ] Transmission Housing Assembly Overview

6 Screw -24 Nm

• secure the input shaft needle sleeve => [ (Item 17) Needle bearing ] Transmission Housing Assembly Overview

7 Input Shaft

• Adjusting => [ Input Shaft, Adjusting ] Adjustments

8 Roller sleeve

• removing and installing => [ Removing the Roller Sleeve from the Input Shaft
and Installing ] Input Shaft

• Installation position: shoulder faces the 2nd gear spline

9 Outer ring

• for the roller sleeve

• Removing and installing => [ (Item 2) Outer ring ] Bearing Housing Assembly Overview

10 Bearing housing

11 Thrust washer

• for 3rd gear wheel

12 Needle bearing

• For 3rd gear

13 Securing ring

• identify

• Installation position => [ Installation Position of Circlips ] Input Shaft, - 3 -

14 3rd gear wheel

15 Spring

• Inserting in 3rd gear selector gear => [ Inserting Spring into Selector Gear ] Input Shaft

16 Synchronizer ring for 3rd gear

• Checking for wear => [ Checking Synchronizer Ring for Wear ] Input Shaft

17 Synchronizer hub for 3rd and 4th gears

• Installation position: high inner collar faces 3rd gear wheel

18 Securing ring

• identify

• Installation position => [ Installation Position of Circlips ] Input Shaft, - 4 -

• do not interchange with the circlip => [ (Item 13) Securing ring ]

• Determine thickness => [ Determining the Circlip for the 3rd/4th Gear
Synchronizer Hub ] Input Shaft

19 Locking collar for 3rd and 4th gear

• Mark the installation position of the synchronizer hub before removing

20 Needle bearing

• For 4th gear

21 4th gear synchronizer ring

• Checking for wear => [ Checking Synchronizer Ring for Wear ] Input Shaft

22 Spring

• Inserting in 4th gear selector gear => [ Inserting Spring into Selector Gear ] Input Shaft

23 4th gear wheel

24 Thrust washer

• for 4th and 5th selector gears

25 Inner race/needle bearing

• for 5th gear

26 Needle bearing

• for 5th gear

27 5th gear wheel

28 Spring

• Inserting in 5th gear selector gear => [ Inserting Spring into Selector Gear ] Input Shaft

29 Synchronizer ring for 5th gear

• Checking for wear => [ Checking Synchronizer Ring for Wear ] Input Shaft

30 Synchronizer hub for 5th and 6th gears

31 Locking collar for 5th and 6th gear

• Mark the installation position of the synchronizer hub before removing

32 Inner race/needle bearing

• for 6th gear

33 Needle bearing

• for 6th gear

34 6th gear synchronizer ring

• Checking for wear => [ Checking Synchronizer Ring for Wear ] Input Shaft

35 Spring

• Inserting in 6th gear wheel => [ Inserting Spring into Selector Gear ] Input Shaft

36 6th gear wheel

37 Thrust washer

• for 6th gear wheel

38 Inner race

• for the roller sleeve => [ (Item 42) Roller sleeve ]

39 Internal multi-point bolt - 150 Nm

40 Internal multi-point bolt - 24 Nm

41 Mounting plate

• secures the roller sleeve => [ (Item 42) Roller sleeve ] inside the transmission cover

42 Roller sleeve

• for input shaft mounting in transmission cover

• with oil guide

• Always replace
