Sill Panel Trim Assembly Overview

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Template (T40038 /8)

The attached trim can only be replaced, removal without destruction is not possible.

Remove adhesive residue on body if necessary.

The adhesive surfaces must free of dust and grease. Clean with cleaning solution (D 009 401 04).

Apply some bonding agent (D 355 205 A2) on the adhesive surface on the body side using the applicator (D 009 500 25) and let it dry for 10 minutes.

When installing, the trim must be applied according to the contours. It is not possible to make corrections later.

Press the covers with the roller (3356) after installation.

1 Sill panel cover

- Remove the lower bolts when removing

- Starting at the front, remove the sill panel trim from bottom to top from the Velcro fastener for the securing strip.

- Install the trim on the securing strip starting at the top when installing.

- Press in the upper trim on the Velcro fastener and secure it with the lower bolts.

If the same sill panel trim is installed again, the adhesive tape must be replaced.

Removing and Installing securing strip






1 Securing strip

- Remove the nut and remove the securing strip.

- Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape and position and press in the securing strip according to the contour, before installing.

Remove the front sill panel trim






- For removal, remove the bolts - 2 - and the front trim - 1 -.

- Tighten the screw to 2.5 Nm.
