Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Roller (3356)
• Adjustment gauge (3371)
• Template (T40038 /8)
• The attached trim can only be replaced, removal without destruction is not possible.
• Remove adhesive residue on body if necessary.
• The adhesive surfaces must free of dust and grease. Clean with cleaning solution (D 009 401 04).
• Apply some bonding agent (D 355 205 A2) on the adhesive surface on the body side using the applicator (D 009 500 25) and let it dry for 10 minutes.
• When installing, the trim must be applied according to the contours. It is not possible to make corrections later.
• Press the covers with the roller (3356) after installation.
1 Cover
• Removal:
- Remove the expanding clip under the wheel housing liner, heat the adhesive surface with a hot air blower and remove the cover in stages.
• Installing:
- Clean the surface with cleaning solution (D 009 401 04). Use an adhesive strip remover (VAS 6349) to remove any adhesive still remaining if necessary.
- Apply the bonding agent (D 355 205 A2) with the applicator (D 009 500 25) in the adhesion area and let it dry for 10 minutes.
- Remove the protective film sideways so that they can be reached when the fender cover is dismantled.
- Position it above the centering pin from front to back and in line with the contour when installing.
- Remove the protective film on the removal tabs between the fender and the cover and tighten it by hand in stages.
- Install the expanding clip in the cover.
2 Adhesive tape
• Remove the protective film a little further before installing the cover and bend it back to the side with the help of the removal tabs.
