Left Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor (V48)

Removing

- Remove the headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp.

To replace the left headlamp beam adjustment motor, the headlamp must be cut open at the designated location with a sharp box cutter.

A cap can be ordered to seal the opening. Refer to the parts catalog.

There is a risk of injury and damage.

Wear protective gloves and eyewear.

To avoid damaged electrical wires in the headlamp, do not cut too deep.

- Cut the cover - 1 - out of the headlamp with a sharp box cutter.






Remove any shavings and grit on the blind cover from the headlamp.

- Cut the cover - 2 - out of the headlamp with a sharp box cutter.






Remove any shavings and grit on the blind cover from the headlamp.

- Remove the low beam bulb cover - 3 - from the headlamp.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - on the headlamp range control positioning motor - 1 -.

- Pull the reflector - 4 - back and tilt the headlamp range control positioning motor - 3 - upward - arrow - to disengage the ball head - 2 - on the adjusting axis from the ball head mount - 1 -.






Installing

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Halogen Headlamp Overview, through MY 2012 ] Halogen Headlamp Overview, Through MY 2012.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Connect the electrical connector when guiding in.

- Pull the reflector back and engage the ball head on the adjusting axis in the reflector ball head mount.

- Close the opening in the headlamp with the cap - 1 - from the repair kit. Refer to the parts catalog.






- Tighten the bolts - arrows -.

- Close the opening in the headlamp with the cap - 1 - from the repair kit. Refer to the parts catalog.






- Install the headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamp ] Headlamp.
