Heated Oxygen Sensor, in Front of Catalytic Converter and Oxygen Sensor, behind Three Way Catalytic Converter, Cylinder Bank 1

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set for Oxygen Sensor (3337)

Removing

• All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

- Remove rear engine cover.

- Free up fuel line and vacuum line to EVAP canister on air filter housing and on air guide hose.

- Remove air guide hose from air filter housing by loosening hose clamps - 4 - and - 5 -.





- Place the air guide hose with the connected lines - 2 - and - 3 - on the engine.

• Ignore - 1 - and - arrows -.

- Remove affected electrical connector from bracket and disconnect it.





1 Oxygen sensor (G39)
2 Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130)

Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (G39), removing

- Remove Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G39) - 2 - using a tool from the Ring Spanner Set (3337).





• Ignore - 1 -.

Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130), removing

- Loosen quick-release connectors - 1 - and - 2 -.





- Remove the expanding clip - arrow - and the noise insulation.

- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 - for left and right stabilizer bar mount.





- Remove the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130) - item 1 - using a tool from the Ring Spanner Set (3337).





• Ignore - 2 -.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

• New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into slots of oxygen sensor body.

• For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with sensor slots. Hot bolt paste.

• Always install the oxygen sensor wire in the same location so it does not come into contact with the exhaust pipe.

• During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.

- Install stabilizer bar.
