Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Fiber optic plier repair set (VAS 6223)

Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)

Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine with the (VAS 5051).

Removing

- Open left luggage compartment storage bin.

Remove the bracket (parking aid control module (J446)) - 3 - first and then remove the radio (R) - 1 -.





- Remove the nut - 1 - (8 Nm) and the screw - 2 - (8 Nm) from the bracket - 3 -.





- Move the bracket - 3 - with the parking aid control module to the side.

- Disconnect the connectors - 2 - from the radio - 1 -.





- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.





- Remove the screws - arrows - (3 Nm) from the radio - 1 -.





- Move the radio - 1 - slightly toward the luggage compartment.

- Remove the radio - 1 - upward out of the bracket - 5 - and remove it from the vehicle.

Installing

- Install in reverse order.

Make sure the tabs - 4 - fit correctly into the openings in the bracket - 5 -.
