AFFECTED VEHICLES

CONDITION
The customer may complain that the front seat belt may not retract, or retract slowly.

This may occur on the driver side and the passenger side of the vehicle.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

The foam in the B pillar trim comes off, moves out of position, and interferes with the seat belt webbing.

The airbag safety system operates normally under this condition.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Bonding of foam to the backside of the B pillar has been optimized

SERVICE

1. Remove Lower B-Pillar trim according to ElsaWeb.

Repair Manual >> Body >> Body Interior >> 70 Interior Trim >> Lower B-Pillar Trim.

2. Re-bond the foam piece in the correct position of the backside of the B-Pillar.
