A/C System Outside Passenger Compartment


Vehicle Exterior Components

Note:
The following illustration shows the location of the components on an Audi A5 Coupe; the Audi Q5 location of the components varies slightly. The description of the components is not different; removing and installing is performed in the same way as on the Audi A5 Coupe






1 - Heated Rear Window -Z1-

2 - Comfort System Central Control Module -J393-

3 - Label
With specifications for type of refrigerant and designated fill capacity

4 - Water drains of plenum chamber

5 - Coolant shut off valve
Only on vehicles with a 6 cylinder gas engine.
If a parking heater is installed on vehicles as optional equipment, then there is not shut off valve installed, Engine Coolant (EC) Switch-Off Valve (heater) -N279- is installed and Recirculation Pump -V55-

6 - Climatronic Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N422-
Installed near the cylinder head
Only on vehicles with a 6 cylinder gas engine.
Vehicles with these engines and an auxiliary heater do not have this valve -N422- installed Engine Coolant (EC) Switch-Off Valve (heater) -N279- performs the function of the auxiliary heater

7 - Outside Air Temperature Sensor -G17-

8 - Coolant Fan -V7- and Coolant Fan 2 -V177-

9 - Air Quality Sensor -G238-
Installed only in the comfort A/C system

10 - Fresh air intake with intake grille

11 - Forced air extractor

1 - Refrigerant line with inner heat exchanger

2 - Expansion valve

3 - Coolant pipes to the heat exchanger for A/C heating

4 - Service connection - low pressure side

5 - Refrigerant line quick acting coupling - low pressure side

6 - Service connection - high pressure side

7 - Refrigerant line quick acting coupling - high pressure side

8 - Fluid reservoir

9 - Condenser

10 - A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor -G395-

11 - Compressor

12 - A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280-
