Exterior Mirror Turn Signal Lamps
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hook (3438)
• Protective gloves
Removing
Danger of unintended engine ignition.
Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the vehicle interior for all work performed on the high voltage vehicle.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Remove the rearview mirror, refer to - 1 -.
- Pull the outside mirror housing - 2 - far just enough in the direction of - arrow A - until the tabs in the cover disengage.
- Using the Hook (3438) , release the left and right retaining tabs - 1 - in the direction of - arrow B - and remove the outside mirror housing from the cover.
- Press the mirror adjusting unit down and pull the exterior rearview mirror housing - 2 - upward slightly.
- Disconnect the lane change assistance warning lamp connector on the front side of the mirror adjusting unit mount, if applicable.
- Disconnect the connector - 1 - and remove the outside mirror housing.
- Remove bolt - 2 -.
- Remove the turn signal bulb housing - 3 - from the outside mirror housing - 1 - in the direction of - arrow B -, by pulling the bulb housing out of the guide in the direction of - arrow A -.
Installing
• Tightening specifications, refer to=> [ Exterior Rearview Mirror Turn Signals Overview ] Service and Repair and.
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
• The entire exterior mirror turn signal must be replaced if an LED is faulty.
- Insert the tip of the turn signal in the slit in the exterior rearview mirror housing - 1 - - arrow -.
- Place the turn signal bulb housing - 3 - into the outside mirror housing; make sure the groove fits into the guide - 2 -.
