Body/Fuel System - Underbody Rattling Noises

AFFECTED VEHICLES





CONDITION

Customer may report a rattling or buzzing noise from rear floor area of vehicle. Noise occurs around 1,800 - 2,500 RPM.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

Black fuel line has come out of channel on top of fuel tank and contacts floor pan of vehicle.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Improvement in installation.

SERVICE





1. Reseat the black fuel line into fuel tank channel.





2. Install spacer ring P/N N 107 162 01 on top of fuel tank where the black fuel line runs adjacent to the white fuel line.

3. Install felt tape in 2 to 3 locations on top of fuel tank to secure fuel line in channel.

4. Retest for noise at 1,800 - 2,500 RPM.
