Affected Vehicles





Condition

During a hands-free telephone call via the Bluetooth phone preparation, the volume level in the vehicle is too low.

Only vehicles with the CAN-based generation 3 radio (without navigation) in model year 2009 are affected.

Technical Background

The Adaptation channel value for phone volume level is incorrect. Only Bluetooth phone preparation control unit (address word 77) with software version 0520 and 0550 are affected.

Production Solution

Bluetooth phone preparation control unit (R36) with software level 0600 or greater.

Service

A. Control units with software version 0520 - Replacing control unit


Replace the Bluetooth phone preparation control unit with part number 8T0 862 336D. A software update is not possible.

B. Control units with software version 0550 - SVM Update Instructions

1. Ensure value 11 is stored in Adaptation channel 139 in the Bluetooth phone preparation control unit (address word 77). If necessary, change and store the correct value.

2. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.





3. Update the Bluetooth phone preparation control unit (R36) using the SVM action code as listed in the table if necessary.
