Service
Software update with SVM code 23E5A001 (Criterion 01)
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the engine control module using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary.
3. After the SVM update, you must manually reset an adaptation factor for the SCR system. To do this, enter the Vehicle Self Diagnosis mode with the VAS test tool. Under On Board Diagnostics (OBD), select 01 Engine Electronics >> 014 Long Adaptation >> channel 40. After pressing Keyboard, enter 0064. Confirm and save the selection.
4. Verify that the adaptation factor is successfully reset by checking the value under measured value block 183. This value should read 1.01. If it does not, attempt the reset again.
Serviceing differential pressure sensor G505 (Criterion 02)
Secure wire of differential pressure sensor with cable tie as shown in Figure 2.
Checking injectior for reducing agent N474 (Criterion 03)
1. Perform visual inspection of injector for reducing agent N474.
See Repair Manual >> 6-cylinder TDI engine (3.0 ltr 4-valve common rail, SCR), mechanics >> Rep. Gr 26 >> Metering system for reducing agent.
2. Check area around clip (Figure 3, 3) for leaks (solidified, white reducing agent).
^ If there are traces of reducing agent, remove injector and replace seal and clip.
^ If there are no traces of reducing agent, continue to step 3.
3. Check part number of injector. Renew injector if part number is 3C0.131.113.
Replacing pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler V400 (Criterion 04)
^ Replace pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler V400. Secure the pump with two clamps (Figure 5, red arrows).
^ See Repair Manual >> 6-cylinder TDI engine (3.0 ltr 4-valve common rail, SCR), mechanics >> Rep. Gr 19.
Replacing right lower pressure hose (Criterion (05)
^ Replace right lower pressure hose.
Tip: Normal PCV operation may cause oil to collect in this hose. Use caution when removing.
Warranty
