Installing
- Check position of toothed gear - E -, it must be located in the position depicted (at stop - D -).
• If toothed gear stop on motor - E - is not in the position depicted, connect terminals 5 and 6 of control motor via a 5A fuse to a 12 V battery for example, using adapter lead, refer to => [ Preparing Adapter Cables for Control Motor Actuation ] Preparing Adapter Cables For Control Motor Actuation (or an adapter lead from connector test kit (V.A.G 1594/C) ). Rotate control motor for only as long until toothed gear is located in the position depicted, the turning direction can be reversed by swapping Plus and Minus.
• If toothed gear stop on motor - E - is not at stop - D - in the position depicted, door - A - must be closed (to close the door, rotate in direction of arrow - C - until it reaches stop).
- Reach into air duct above opening of removed vent in rear center console and set the door - A - into a vertical position (completely open).
- Check position of toothed gear at door - F -, the first tooth must still be completely visible (the first tooth gap is covered halfway by edge of opening - G -) and position of toothed gear at control motor - D - (it must be at the stop as depicted).
- Install control motor - C -.
- Install bolts - A -.
- Connect connector - B - to control motor - C -.
- Check DTC memory of Climatronic Control Module (J255) (and of Rear A/C Display Control Head (E265) ) and erase any DTCs displayed using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
- If necessary, perform a basic setting and output diagnostic test mode on the A/C system using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS5051 in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
- Check movement of door - A - for example, during basic setting (or output Diagnostic Test Mode -DTM-), it must close and open completely.
- Install the remaining removed components again in reverse order.
