Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Assembly Overview, Direct System






1 Left Front Tire Pressure Monitoring Transmitter in wheel housing (G431) , right front (G432) , left rear (G433) and right rear (G434)

The tire pressure monitoring transmitters are only installed in the high version.

Component location: The transmitters are installed behind the wheel housing liners.

2 Nut

2 Nm

3 Rear Tire Pressure Monitoring Antenna (R96)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Tire Pressure Monitoring Antenna (R96) ] Service and Repair.

Component location: Right front, on underbody

4 Display in Instrument Cluster

5 Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module (J502)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module (J502) ] Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module (J502)

If tire pressure monitoring control module (J502) is replaced, system must be coded. Refer to => [ Tire Pressure Monitoring System Usage, Direct System ] Tire Pressure Monitoring System Usage, Direct System

Installed location: On the left side next to the steering column.

6 Left Front Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (G222) , Right Front (G223) , Left Rear (G224) and Right Rear (G225)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Metal Valve Body ] Removal and Replacement

If the wheel positions are changed on a vehicle, wheels changed, the tire pressure sensors replaced or pressures changed, this must be confirmed in the MMI.
