The telephone system consists of the mobile phone pre-installation.
The Telephone Transceiver (R36) is integrated in the MMI infotainment system via the MOST bus. It has also a Bluetooth interface.
The Telephone Baseplate (R126) is installed in the center armrest storage compartment or center armrest. Operation is performed via Multimedia Control Head (E380) or via Cellular Telephone (R54).
Three microphones for Microphone Unit In Front Roof Module (R164) are integrated in the Front Interior Light (W1). Of these, one microphone is connected to Telephone Transceiver.
Fault finding is performed via "Guided Fault Finding" using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS5051B).
Notes On Bluetooth Technology
Bluetooth technology is a standardized radio wave data transmission system.
An additional transmitter/receiver unit is installed in the telephone transceiver. A separate Bluetooth Antenna (R152) connects the telephone transceiver and telephone baseplate so that all Cellular Telephones can be used cordless via Bluetooth technology.
The range of the radio wave connection is approximately 10 meters.
