Upper Instrument Cover, Driver Side Knee Bar

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim removal wedge (3409)






Removing

- Remove lower instrument panel trim on driver side. Refer to => [ Lower Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover ] Lower Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover.

Always follow the removal sequence when removing the upper instrument panel cover (knee bar).

Not following the removal sequence may result in damaging the instrument panel.

- Place the trim removal wedge (3409) between the instrument panel and the upper instrument panel cover (knee bar) as shown in the illustration.






- Carefully unclip the upper instrument panel cover (knee bar) - 1 - hooks - 2 -.






The upper instrument panel cover (knee bar) is not illustrated.

- Remove the upper instrument panel cover (knee bar) - 1 - in direction of - arrow - out of the hooks - 2 - and out of the instrument panel - 3 -.

- Remove bolts - 1 - (quantity: 2).






- Remove the upper instrument panel cover (knee bar) on the driver side - 2 -.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Make sure the clips - 1 - (quantity 5) are not damaged and that they are positioned correctly.






- Replace an damaged or missing clips - 1 -.

Installation position






- Pay attention to the installation position of the clips - 1 -.

- Install the clips - 1 - into the instrument panel - 2 - so that the hook-shaped part of the clip - arrow - is at the top.

- Slide the clips - 1 - all the way into the instrument panel - 2 -.
