Tire Monitoring System: Description and Operation

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Observe notes about usage in your owner's manual.

The system monitors the tire pressure you have set and entered for monitoring.

For passenger safety, always replace any damaged tire pressure sensors or valves.

Do not clean the tire pressure sensor with steam jet cleaners or strong compressed air.

For safety reasons, the tire pressure monitoring sensor should be replaced and the rim cleaned after using tire sealant.

Tire pressures can be saved for two sets of tires (for example, winter and summer tires). The system can switch between the two sets at any time without reprogramming the system.

If a new set of wheels is used or the tire pressure monitoring sensor is replaced, the tire pressure monitoring control module (J502) must be recoded. Refer to => [ Control Module Access, Replacing or Coding with VAS 5051B ] Control Module Access, Replacing or Coding With VAS 5051B.

A DTC entry will be saved in the DTC memory if:

The tire pressure is more than 0.5 bar lower than the target pressure.

When installing less than four wheels with tire pressure sensors.

When installing winter tires without or with incorrect tire pressure sensors.
