Designated Adaptation Channels Overview

• Adaptation channels "01", "02", "06 ", and "07" are in effect only for vehicles in which a parking heater is installed as optional equipment. In these vehicles, data is exchanged between the Climatronic control module (J255 ) A/C control head the auxiliary heater control module (J364), and the instrument cluster control module (J285) via the comfort data bus system. Not applicable for USA

• Adaptation channels "08", "09", and " 81" are only provided for a Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head from hardware/software version " 0711".

• Adaptation channels "10" through "16" are only provided for a Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head starting with hardware/software version "1323 " (gradual introduction in production from 09.03).

• Adaptation channels "17" through "19", " 21" through "80" and "82" and higher are not currently used.

• Adaptation channel "20" is only used for Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control heads with a part number from index "AJ" (provided for reset of all modified settings to the manufacturer adaptation). These Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control heads are installed in vehicles starting with VIN "400000" of model year 2005 (in the Sedan and Avant) and "012913" of model year 2005 (Cabrio).

• In adaptation channels "01" and "02", a maximum temperature increase of 4°C (input value up to "8") can be entered in the Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head in the parking heater mode. Not applicable for USA

• If "0" is entered in adaptation channel "03", it is to be noted in the vehicle records that the activation of A/C compressor regulator valve (N280) can no longer be shut off via the "A/C compressor cut-in" function from the engine control module.

• The shut-off function for the parking heater can be entered in adaptation channel "07" by the Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head. The activation of the parking heater can also be set via the adaptation function (adaptation channel "18 ") in the instrument cluster control module (J285 ). Not applicable for USA





* Depending on version of the Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head, "0" or " 4" can be set by the manufacturer or changed as necessary.









* Depending on the version of the Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head and the engine









• The adaptation "1" in the adaptation channel "07 " may only be entered for the Climatronic control module (J255) A/C control head up to software version "XX13" if the parking heater/parking ventilation is switched on via the radio-frequency remote control. Since the ignition must be on to activate the "immediately on" function for the parking heater/parking ventilation, the activation is erased again in this Climatronic control module (J255 ) A/C control head when the ignition is switched off. Starting with software version "XX14" the function is as described above. Not applicable for USA

• The shut-off behavior for the parking heater/parking ventilation can also be set in the instrument cluster control module (J285 ) and in the auxiliary heater control module ( J364). (adaptation of the parking heater). Not applicable for USA
