Dampening Adjustment Valve

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Puller (Kukko 17/0)

Removing

- Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

- Remove the wheel.

- Mark cable connection position - 1 - of dampening adjustment valve at damper - arrow -.






- Carefully disconnect harness connector and carefully pull connector - 2 - out of bracket by hand.

- Mount the (Kukko 17/0) - 1 - with the flat surface facing the shock absorber and pre-tension it manually. Attach attachments - 3 - and - 4 - between dampening adjustment valve - 2 - and shock absorber tube while doing so.






- Tap dampening adjustment valve - 2 - at right angle using plastic hammer - 5 -. Tap on attachment - 4 - as close to valve housing as possible using a plastic hammer. Pull on attachment - 3 - in a right angle by hand.

Dampening adjustment valve is destroyed when removed.

- Remove circlip - 1 -.






- Remove coil - 2 - and sealing ring - 3 -.

- Check housing for dampening adjustment valve for deformation all around - arrows -. If necessary, flatten deformations using a small screwdriver.






Installing

- Clean housing for dampening adjustment valve.

- Always replace sealing ring - arrow -.






New sealing ring - 1 - is already installed on dampening adjustment valve.

Sealing ring and valve are installed together - do not disconnect.

- Attach new dampening adjustment valve and align cable connection - 1 - with your marking - arrow -.






- Forcefully press on dampening adjustment valve by hand until sealing ring engages audibly.

Further installation is in the reverse sequence to removal.
