Oxygen Sensors, G108 and G286
Oxygen Sensors, G108 and G286
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Ring spanner 7-piece set for oxygen sensor (3337)
Removing
• All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.
- Remove intake manifold. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold ] Intake Manifold.
- Remove electrical harness connectors from bracket and disconnect it:
1 Black connector for Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108) with Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Heater 2 (Z28) in front of catalytic converter
2 Brown connector for Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 4 (G286) with Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Heater 4 (Z63) in front of catalytic converter
- Remove affected oxygen sensor using tool from Ring spanner 7-piece set for oxygen sensor (3337).
1. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 4 (G286) (in front of catalytic converter)
2. Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108) (in front of catalytic converter)
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:
• New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into slots of oxygen sensor body.
• For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with sensor slots. Hot bolt paste.
• Electrical wire of oxygen sensor must always be secured in the same position when installing so that contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.
Tightening specifications. Refer to => [ Oxygen Sensors Assembly Overview ] Oxygen Sensors Assembly Overview
- Reinstall intake manifold. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold ] Intake Manifold.
