Oxygen Sensors, G130 and G287

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Ring spanner 7-piece set for oxygen sensor (3337)

Removing

All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

- Remove electrical harness connectors from bracket and disconnect it:





1. Brown connector for Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 3 Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G287)

2. Black connector for Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130)

Left exhaust tract:

- Remove Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 3 Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G287) - arrow - using a tool from the Ring spanner 7-piece set for oxygen sensor (3337).





Right exhaust system tract:

- Remove Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130) - arrow - with Ring spanner 7-piece set for oxygen sensor (3337).





Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into slots of oxygen sensor body.

For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with sensor slots. Hot bolt paste.

Electrical wire of oxygen sensor must always be secured in the same position when installing so that contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.
