Coolant Hose Connection Diagram
Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.
• When the engine is warm the cooling system is under pressure.
• Reduce pressure by covering coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and carefully open.
• Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model.
• Arrows on coolant pipes and ends of coolant hoses must align when installing.
1 Radiator

• Change coolant after replacing
2 Non-Return Valve
3 After-Run Coolant Pump (V51)
• Removal and installation, refer to => [ After-Run Coolant Pump ] Service and Repair
4 Oil Cooler
• Change coolant after replacing
5 Coolant Pump
• Removal and installation, refer to => [ Coolant Pump ] Service and Repair
6 Cylinder Head and Cylinder Block
• Change coolant after replacing
7 Coolant Reservoir
8 Coolant Reservoir Cap
• With check-valve
• Pressure relief valve, checking => [ Pressure relief valve in cap,

9 Heater Core
• Change coolant after replacing
10 Coolant Thermostat
• With connecting piece, removing and installing, refer to => [ Connecting Piece with Coolant Thermostat ] Connecting Piece with Coolant Thermostat
• Checking, refer to => [ Thermostat, Checking ] Testing and Inspection
11 Non-Return Valve
• Only on vehicles with direct shift automatic transmission (DSG)
12 Transmission Oil Cooler
• Change coolant after replacing
13 Auxiliary Radiator
• Depending on vehicle equipment
