Removing
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.
- Remove driver side airbag unit. Refer to => [ Driver Airbag ] Driver Airbag.
• Wheels must be in straight-ahead position when removing or installing steering wheel.
- Remove screws - arrows -.
- Mark steering wheel/steering column position to each other with felt-tip pen.
- Remove steering wheel - 1 - from steering column.
Installation
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:
- When installing previous steering wheel, ensure markings on steering column/steering wheel line up.
- A new steering wheel (without marking) must be installed in center position (steering wheel spoke must be horizontal and wheels straight).
- Perform a road test.
- If steering wheel is crooked, remove again and place on steering column splines.
- Always install steering wheel with a new screw.
- Install driver side airbag unit. Refer to => [ Installing ] Driver Airbag.
Tightening Specifications
* Replace screw.
