Fuel Pump Adaptation after Replacing Fuel Delivery Unit, FSI and TFSI Engines

• If the fuel pump is to be replaced on vehicles with FSI and TFSI engines, the fuel pump must be adapted to the engine control module (ECM).

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing, and Information System (VAS 5051B)

Procedure

• (VAS 5051B) connected to the data link connector (DLC)- arrow -.





• No faults in DTC memory.

• Engine running at idle.

Display on (VAS 5051B):





- Tap Vehicle Self-Diagnosis button item - 1 - in selection.

Display on (VAS 5051B):





- Select the engine electronics vehicle system in the selection - 1 - and continue by pressing the -> button.

Display on (VAS 5051B):





- Select the basic setting function in the selection - 1 - and continue by pressing the -> button.

Display on (VAS 5051B):





Vehicles with a 2.0L FSI engine:

- In button field - 1 -, press buttons 2 4 3 for display group 243 and confirm entry by pressing Q button.

Vehicles with a 2.0L TFSI engine:

- In button field - 1 -, press buttons 1 0 3 for display group 103 and confirm entry by pressing Q button.

All Vehicles:

- Press the Activate button - A - to start the basic setting.





Display on (VAS 5051B):

- Check reading in display field - 4 -.

Appearing in the display: ADP is running After the fuel pump adaptation is completed, the display shows ADP OK.

• If ADP not OK appears: check the DTC memory.

- End the basic setting function by pressing the <- button.

- Select the End output function in the selection.

- Turn the ignition off and disconnect the data link connector (DLC).
