Telephone System From 11.03.2008
Telephone System from 11.03.2008
The telephone system consists of the following components:
• Cell phone preparation (CAN)
The CAN bus connects the telephone transceiver (R36) to the Infotainment (radio). It also has a Bluetooth Antenna (R152).
Operation is performed via the radio or the cellular telephone (R54).
The microphones for the microphone unit in front roof module (R164) are integrated in the front interior lamp (W1). One microphone is connected ( left front microphone (R140) ) with the telephone transceiver (R36).
• Cell phone preparation in the information electronics control module 1 (J794) (MMI)
The cell phone preparation does not have a separate control module (telephone transceiver), but rather all the functions are integrated into the information electronics control module 1 (J794). The telephone is operated either by the MMI Infotainment or by the cellular telephone (R54).
The microphones for the microphone unit in front roof module (R164) are integrated in the front interior lamp (W1). One microphone is directly connected to the information electronics control module 1 (J794).
• Bluetooth setup (CAN)
The telephone transceiver is installed with the microphone unit in front roof module (R164) / Bluetooth antenna (R152) and is part of the hands-free setup. Bluetooth connect the cell phone (R54).
The Bluetooth antenna (R152) is attached to the telephone transceiver.
• Bluetooth hands-free setup in the information electronics control module 1 (MMI)
The information electronics control module 1 is installed with the microphone unit in front roof module (R164) and is part of the hands-free setup. Bluetooth connect the cell phone (R54).
The Bluetooth antenna (R152) is integrated in the information electronics control module 1 (J794).
Fault finding is performed via "Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Notes on Bluetooth technology
A standardized radio connection system is used to transmit data between information electronics control module 1 and cellular telephone (R54) - Bluetooth Technology.
An additional transmitter/receiver unit is installed in the information electronics control module 1. A separate Bluetooth antenna (R152) connects the information electronics control module 1 and cellular telephone (R54).
The range of the radio wave connection is approximately 10 meters.
