Rear Bumper Cover Assembly Overview, Allroad

Only the differences from the standard bumper are described

The removal and installation of the bumper cover is performed like that of the standard bumper.






1 Spoiler

Unlike for standard bumpers, the two left and right expanding clips must be removed first.

Bumper cover removed.

- Release the cover hooks all around and in stages and remove from the cover toward the rear.

- When installing, the hooks must lock completely in the cover.

2 Bumper cover

When re-installing the old bumper cover, the old support piece - 7 - remains installed.

- When installing and removing bumper cover, a new support must be installed, refer to => [ Disengaging support piece ]

Perform removal as for the spoiler.

7 Support piece

Support piece must be installed only with a new bumper cover.

Release => [ Disengaging support piece ]

8 Underbody Impact Guard

Bumper cover removed.

Remove bolts - 6 - and - 9 - and remove impact guard toward the rear.

9 Bolt

1.5 Nm

Loosen the expanding clip

- Push the clamping pin - 3 - up through the left and right expanding clip on the spoiler - 2 - to release.






- Remove the expanding clip from the spoiler - 2 - and the bumper cover - 1 -.

- When installing, lock the clip with the clamping pin.

Loosen the hook

- When removing the cover - 1 - or the spoiler - 5 -, release the hooks, and the hooks under the end plate- 2 -, and remove them opposite one another.






- When removing the impact guard - 2 -, remove the bolts - 3 -, release the hooks- arrows - and remove them from the spoiler toward the rear.

Installing support piece





Support piece must be installed only with a new bumper cover.

- To remove, press catch - arrow - to the side and pull support piece downward out of cover - 1 -.

- Insert support piece - 2 - into cover as shown and let engage inside.

- Disengaging cord must be removed only when the cover is installed completely.

Disengaging support piece





Never unlock the support when it is removed. This can cause personal injury.

When re-installing the old bumper cover, the old support piece remains installed.

- When replacing the bumper cover, a new support piece must be clipped into the bumper cover from below.

- After completely installing bumper cover, disengage support piece by pulling on disengaging cord - arrow -.

By pulling disengaging cord, tension is released from support piece and reinforces the bumper cover against the crossmember.
