Seat Forward/Back Adjuster Release Cable

Removing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must discharge static electricity. For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Turn on the ignition.

- Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery with the ignition on.

- Remove the front seat:

Standard seat and sport seat (manual). Refer to => [ Manual Standard Front Seat ] Manual Standard Front Seat.

- Attach the front seat to the (VAS 6136) => [ Front Seats, Installing on the ] Front Seats, Installing on the Fixture For Seat Repair (VAS 6136).

- Open the cable ties for the release cable or unclip the clip on the seat pan.

- Disengage release cable bracket - 1 - at seat forward/back adjuster - 2 -.






- Detach the end of the release cable - arrow - from the lever for the release cable attachment - 3 - from the seat forward/back adjustment.

- Disengage release cable bracket - 2 - at seat forward/back adjuster - 1 -.






- Disengage the release cable - 1 - that seat forward/back release cable mount - arrow A -.






- Disengage the ball-shaped end of the release cable - arrow B - at the seat forward/back adjuster groove.

- Remove the release cable.

Installing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must discharge static electricity. For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Make sure the connectors are installed all the way in and are secure.

Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on.

If the airbag indicator lamp (K75) indicates a fault after installation, the DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
