5 Coolant Shut-Off Valve
Depending on the engine, the shut-off valve is installed in the coolant feed and return line form the engine to the A/C heat exchanger
The shut-off valve is currently installed only in vehicles having a
4- or 6-cylinder gasoline engine. If the vehicle however has an auxiliary
heater as an optional equipment, then the vehicle does not have a shut-off
valve. Engine Coolant (EC) Switch-Off Valve (heater) -N279- does this

The Climatronic Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N422- actuates the shut-off valve by vacuum

Allocation of the coolant shut-off valve and of the Climatronic Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N422- on the engine or inside the plenum chamber
6 Climatronic Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N422-
The installed location and the version of the Climatronic Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N422- may differ. It could be installed in the engine compartment or in the plenum chamber depending on the engine and the version of the vehicle.
The Climatronic Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N422- is currently being installed in 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder vehicles.
If the vehicle has an auxiliary heater as an option, then vehicle does not
have the Climatronic Refrigerant Shut-Off Valve -N422- installed (in vehicles with an auxiliary heater, the Engine Coolant (EC) Switch-Off Valve (heater) -N279- performs
this function
