Convertible Top Cover







Convertible Top Cover

The convertible top remains installed in the vehicle when removing the cover.

It is not necessary to remove the convertible top headliner when removing the convertible top cover.

- Lower the convertible top into the convertible top compartment.

- Remove the seal - 1 - and remove the screws - arrow - on the trim - 2 - on the front rail.





- Remove the screw - arrow - on the retaining strip - 1 - for the seal - 2 -.





- Remove the left and right rear screws on the front roof guide trim panels.





- Unclip and remove the front rail trim - 1 - at the locations marked with the - arrows -.





- Loosen the convertible top headliner from the front rail and remove the screws - 1 - from the retaining strip - 2 -.





- Remove the seals - 1 - and move them to the side.





- Remove the screws - 2 - from the retaining strip.





- Separate the cover - 1 - from the frame starting on the side - arrow - using a plastic wedge.





- Disengage the tension cable hooks on the front roof guide.





- Fold back the cover - 1 - from the front rail - 2 -.





- Remove the seal - 1 - from the upper retaining strip - 2 - on the C-pillar.





- Cover a universal pliers with felt to protect the convertible top cover.





- Pull the cover on the C-pillar off the retaining strip.

- Remove the bottom of the cover with the reinforcement - 1 - from the retaining strip - 2 -.





- Pull the tension cable - 1 - to the side out of its pocket.





- Drill out the rivet head - arrow - from the tension cable - 1 - to make it easier to fold.





- Lift the bracket and remove the cover retaining strip from the frame.





- Remove the convertible top cover molding - 3 - - 1 - from the bracket - 2 -.





- Remove the rear window mount from the bolt and then remove the bolt.





- Remove the washer.






The window glass must be installed again.

- Loosen the cable ties for the rear window defroster on both sides.






Pay attention to the position of the cable ties when installing them.

Install the cable ties at the same location and in the same position.

- Remove the connector - 2 - on the main bearing for the antenna amplifier and unclip the antenna cable - 1 - from the cable guides.





- Disengage the guide cable - 3 - at the top of the rear window.

- Disengage the tension cable on both side above the protection.





- Pull the guide cable - 1 - out through the guides sleeve- 2 - and through eyelet.





Always make sure guide cable - 1 - runs through eyelet.

- Remove the guide cable - 1 - in the direction of the arrow at the opening - arrow - inside the - rail 4 -





- Disconnect the connector - 1 - for the comfort lamp (depending on the equipment level).





- Guide the cover - 1 - off - rails 1; 2 and 3 - in direction of - arrow - to the right.





- Remove the convertible top cover completely off - rails 1; 2 and 3 - toward the right.





- Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.
