Lower Seat Frame







Lower Seat Frame

The upper and lower seat pan frames can only be separated and connected when the upholstery is removed.

The seat position sensor and the belt latch must be replaced into the new lower seat frame.

The upper and lower seat frames cannot be separated from each other on the following front seats: standard seat and manual Sport seat.

The upper and lower seat frames can be separated from each other can be replaced individually on the following front seats: standard seat and power Sport seat, Comfort seat and Super Sport seat.

Removing


Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Raise the seat to make it possible to pretension the torsion bar.

- Remove front seat:

Standard and Sport Power Seat, Comfort Seat and Super Sport Seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Front Seats ] Power Standard Front Seats.

- Remove the seat position sensor on the lower seat frame. Refer to => [ Seat Position Sensor, with Seat Occupied Sensor for Belt Fastening Detection ] Seat Position Sensor With Seat Occupied Sensor For Belt Fastening Detection.

- Remove the front belt latch on the lower seat frame. Refer to => [ Front Belt Latch ] Front Belt Latch.

- Disconnect the electrical connector on the seat forward/back adjustment motor.





- Remove the bolt - 3 -.


Danger of damaging the threaded the holes or the bushing in the bearing points (connecting the upper and lower frame).

A second technician is needed to be pushing on the seat via the backrest while removing the following screws.

- Remove bolts - 2 - (quantity: 4).

- Remove the lower frame - 4 - from the upper frame - 1 -.

- Make sure the bushings - 1 - and the bearing points (connection upper and lower frame) - 2 - are not damaged.






The bushings cannot be replaced with workshop materials.

If the bushings are damaged, the corresponding assembly parts must be replaced.

Installation


Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Always clean the threaded holes for the self-locking bolts, for example, using a thread tap.

- Replace all self-locking bolts.

- Install the removed electrical and electronic components and wires in the new lower frame.

Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.


Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again .
