Tail Lamps







Rear Parking/Fog Lamps (M41)/(M42) and Backup Lamps (M76)/(M77)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Observe the notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

Removing






- Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.

- Turn the light switch into the "0" position.

- Pry the cover - 1 - out using a (3409) - arrow -.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 3 -.






- Remove the nut - 1 - and the large clamping bracket - 2 -.

- Remove the bulb socket - 4 - from the inner tail lamp by pressing the locking bracket upward - arrows -.

- Remove the tail lamp/fog lamp bulb from the socket.

- Remove the backup lamp bulb from the socket.

Installing

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Inner Lamp ] Inner Lamp.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Insert the new bulb in the socket without touching the bulb with bare hands.

- Slide the large clamping bracket - 3 - onto the inner tail lamp threaded pins. The guide pins - 2 and 6 - must engage in the mounts.






- Tighten the nuts - 1 -.

When tightening the nuts, the clamping bracket wedges itself onto the rear lid - arrows -.

Ignore items - 4 and 5 -.
