MMI Radio (R)

The MMI radio is located behind the luggage compartment left side trim in the Infotainment rack.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Protective Cap for Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

- Turn off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

Use the vehicle diagnostic tester.

Removing

- Remove the luggage compartment left side trim..

The Infotainment rack can only be removed once the convertible top hydraulic pump in the luggage compartment is moved.

- Release the bracket and the necessary connectors on the hydraulic pump.

They hydraulic lines are not affected. Do not disconnect them.

- Swivel the hydraulic pump in the luggage compartment.

- Loosen the nuts - 1, 2, 3 and 4 - on the infotainment rack - 6 -.






- Swivel the rack - 6 - in the luggage compartment.

- Unlock and disconnect the connectors from the radio - 5 - and TV tuner (R78).

- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.






The radio is attached to the rack with two locking tabs.

- Press the release tabs - arrows - on the radio - 2 - and pull the radio - 2 - our of the holder - 1 -.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
