Selector Mechanism Component Overview

• Lubricate the bearing areas and slide surfaces with polycarbamide grease (G 052 142 A2).





1 Retaining washer

• For the noise insulation to the selector mechanism.

• Quantity: 4

• Replace

2 Retaining clip

• For the selector lever cable to the selector mechanism

3 O-ring

• Replace

4 Selector lever cable

• Do not bend or kink

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable ] Selector Lever Cable.

• In case of a damaged rubber boot, the selector lever cable must be replaced.

• When installing, make sure the rubber sleeve on the transmission side is not twisted.

• Adjusting, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable Adjusting, from 12.05 ] Procedures.

5 Selector lever sensor system control module (J587) with Tiptronic switch (F189)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module with Tiptronic Switch ] Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module with Tiptronic Switch.

6 Nut

• 10 Nm

• For the selector mechanism to the body.

8 Selector mechanism

• Can only be replaced as complete unit.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Mechanism ] Selector Mechanism.

9 Shift lock solenoid (N110)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Lock Solenoid ] Selector Lever Lock Solenoid.

10 Transmission park selector switch (F305)

• Can only be replaced together with the shift lock solenoid (N110). Refer to => [ Selector Lever Lock Solenoid ] Selector Lever Lock Solenoid.
