Rear Lid Hinge

Standard Version





1 Grommet

Coat grommets with soap, for example, for easier assembly.

2 Gas strut

- Gas-filled strut tube must be engaged on hood side.

3 Stop piece

4 Cover

- Install the cover in the hinge lever.

- Only then press cover at top over hinge lever until it engages audibly.

- Press stop into hinge eye.

5 Spring

Only with comfort hinge

Rear Lid Hinges

For easier adjustment of the rear lid hinges, use gradations marked on the hinges.

- Remove the nut - 1 -. Tightening specification 21 Nm





- Remove the nut - 2 -. Tightening specification 21 Nm.

- Lift off lid from hinge.

- Remove the bolts - 3 - and - 4 -. Tightening specification 21 Nm.

- Only loosen the center bolt - 5 -. Tightening specification 21 Nm.

- Remove the hinge - 6 -.

- To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Gas-Filled Strut

Removing

When removing or installing the gas-filled strut, push back the opened rear lid only slightly so as to avoid damaging components.

- Lift retaining springs in succession on both ends using screwdriver and remove gas-filled strut.





Installing

- Clip in gas-filled strut at bottom first, then at top.

- The gas-filled strut tube is installed on the lid side.

Comfort Hinge





1 Gas strut

- Gas-filled strut tube must be engaged on hood side.

- Insert cover with angled retractors in hinge lever.

- Only then press cover at top over hinge lever until it engages audibly.

- Press stop into hinge eye.

2 Cover

- Slide in cover from below between gas-filled strut and long hinge lever.

3 Spring

- Before removing, remove gas-filled strut and cover.

- To remove, press off spring over ball stud.

- While installing, plastic shells of spring must engage cleanly over ball stud.

4 Comfort hinge

No replacement part, belongs to delivery casing

Gas Strut, Venting

- Clamp area - x - of the gas strut in the vise, area - x - = 50 mm.






Clamp only within this area, otherwise accident could occur!

Always wear eye protection when sawing.

- Saw into the cylindrical part of strut in the first third of the total cylinder length, determined starting from the edge of the cover on the side with the piston rod.
